Media created in digital form is often referred to as "born digital". My work combines the expertise of a digital native with the news judgement of a trained journalist with many years experience in the field. I come out of commercial news where I worked for many years in both radio and television so I'm fast and accurate. I know a story when I see one and how to sell them to fellow journalists.
My work has involved translating news stories from, print to tv, radio to print, video to web. since my first job at Newsweek Magazine's Broadcasting Service.
I have written two technical books, Web Video: Making it Great, Getting it Noticed, and DSL: a Wiley Tech Brief. Much of my work has been in the telecom and broadband arena includes I'm also comfortable in front of the camera as a speaker/spokesperson or leading conference sessions.
Some call this hybrid specialty "Preditor." I produce and edit video content. As Managing Director for PulverTV, I built a studio for shooting web video and shot and produced video coverage of dozens of technical conferences. Including:, VON, Video on the Net, Freedom to Connect, Digital Hollywood, Streaming Media East, Fast Net Futures, and Web Video Summit. I shoot video (have my own HDV gear), conduct interviews, edit,(Mac or PC) on Adobe Premier, Finalcut Pro and Avid.
I'm a certified web developer, know encoding, three camera production and tricks for getting the word out through social networks.
